How will Speakasia Pay its dues...?

There are queries a plenty that how will Speak Asia be able to pay all that is due to its panelists...

::: Here is my understanding of this Situation:::

::Sources of Funds::

1. Not everyone is going to ask for the complete money immediately as there is a big surety of business coming back to its normal operations. So when money flows in with new joinings , these old liabilities can be paid off.

2. Many renewals are due, when business is going to restart the revenue from renewals would also come.

3. Then there are defamation suits filed by company, money from those too will be received and can be used to pay back the dues in the normal course.

4. And most importantly, The revenue from real clients of speakasia not to be forgotten..

::Liabilities to be paid ::

As per my understanding the immediate liability of the company towards panelists is

1. The cash request which were bounced in the month of May and June

2. The money which company needs to pay for the Persons opting for exit option.

3. The government Dues where applicable.

4. Rest all liabilities can be paid off once business comes to its normal operations through Earn and Burn Points programme..

By the way I am responsible for what I say and not what u understand!!!!

Exit Now or Never.....

As per the Supreme Court Order (copy provided below) in the Case of Speakasia, Justice Lahoti has been given powers to calculate the total dues payable to Petitioners and Authorities. As per my understanding, the total dues as of now would mean

1) The tax amount which the company may have to pay ,

2) Penalties for violating Indian Laws, if any

3) Cash Requests of Panelists which were bounced in the period after May 11

4) And if I am not wrong , the request of everyone who has applied for exit option using the company site created specifically for this purpose.

If we minutely scan through the order, it no where mentions that the Business will start again so soon. Hence fundamentally speaking, anyone who has only subscribed to SpeakAsia E-Zine but has never redeemed their RPs using either Cash Request Option or Buying PINS , this order raises a hope for them to get their original subscription amount back. But for all other Panelists who have been able to encash rewards more than their original subscription amount, it does not make sense for them to exit. As and when the business is back to its normal operations, person who are opting to exit now can very well comeback and make a new entry. The exit policy of the company is copied below..

Rest all is your understanding. This is plain practical talk and I sincerely hope that using the exit option will not hurt our loyalty towards speakasia and we still stay united and supportive to bring back our beloved company to its normal operations (Even a higher platform than you could imagine.)

My Viewpoint on "Is the petition filed by Solomon James ji is for Only 115 panelists "

First of all it is for all registered panelists with Speakasia (But I am yet to read the petition myself). I am saying this on the following logic

Supreme Court is the highest court of country and Mr. Lahoti is the former Chief Justice of India. People who are not aware they please understand that CJI is parallel position to the Honourable President of India. Hence it is impossible that the Highest Court of the country will appoint the highest profile person for merely 115 panelists..

Secondly even if it is for only 115 panelists then this can be viewed as follows

Scenario (1) Payments will be made through the normal banking operations

Even if court orders only for 115 panelists, SAOL Management who is willing to pay to all panelists (as confirmed through affidavits filed before the honourable courts) will have the options open and would pay all the panelists.

Scenario (2) Payments are made under supervision of the courts

As per my understanding since the affidavits have been filed, the respondent will ask the courts to allow them the release of payments for all eligible panelists.
But This scenario is a bit tricky and will have to be understood by reading the prayers which has been filed before the Honourable Supreme Court of India.

Speak Asia was already on the verge of registration before this media mess up was created by the vested interests. If you remember Speakasia management was very confident that all legal papers are ready and they would have got registration by the end of July. Just because everything got highlighted in Media , no government agency can now take an action on this issue until a proper clean chit is issued.

I noticed a lot of foul words/allegations and negative comments against OUR COMPANY….We are welcome for every discussion but let me remind all members here that this is not a rough exercise book or a slambook where they can post anything they desire or wish.
I ask such people what could they have done if the company had run away on 12th of May,2011 itself.I expect an answer from such Members!!

Let me assure and remind you of a fact : The only source where we can get our subscription and earned money is “SPEAKASIA”.No TV Channel or even the Government is going to return a single penny of ours.Let us be assured that the company is not leaving any stone unturned to do so.
Ladies & Gentlemen,our accounts have been frozen, we are not allowed to hold meetings,we are not allowed to pay money to the vendors and what not.
But,the company is fighting against all these issues very bravely despite suffering huge losses on all fronts.
I agree that it has been more than 3 months today that we have been waiting for our deserved income and we are frustrated because of the same, but what needs to be understood is this is exactly what our enemies/competitors/politicians want.They want us to go against our company,loose all our hopes,make complains,lodge FIRs and FINALLY leave the company alone and stranded so that they are left with nothing to fight for.
Sadly,we are doing exactly what our enemies want.

I feel pity to those people who waste their energy in criticizing people like Anna Hazare & Ramdev Baba. I don't understand why they say? "Anna Hazare desh ko gumrah kar rahe hain". I ask them .. why they think so? just because it is their opinion? or they are influenced by few people who don't like a young revolution in our country like Egypt.
I take a chance of 1000% Anna Hazare himself is corrupt...
But still I would support him..
Because the Bill he is fighting for can also get Anna Hazare himself behind the bars if he is corrupt...

I support him by my heart & soul.. so should you.

When Ambika Soni of Congress Says that Anna should guarantee that there will be no corruption after Jan Lokpal bill is presented.

Why Don't the government itself come up and guarantee the same? When government says anna is unconstitutional then why can't the government nab corrupt people with in constitutional framework. Why the need for lokpal is arisen...

Speakasia is in a dilemma now a days. They are not sure whether they are here to do business or are they here to improve Indian Economy and Government.
They are trying to fight tooth and nail with government to allow them a permanent establishment but have been thrown in circles by one department and other. RBI says PE is must for remittance and RoC (MCA) says paying of old dues should be done before PE is granted. What to Do. Does it mean that you have to just fill the coffers of the government officials to get a clean chit for otherwise legal business.

Don't shy away from getting a PAN CARD. Pan Card is the most acceptable id proof for an Indian Citizen.

Here you will be asked for your personal details. Kindly fill up the details as required. After the form is complete, you can submit the same online and take a print of the same. On the printed form, please paste your photograph , affix your signatures and enclose your address and ID proof as confirmed in the form while submitting.

I started this blog just for compiling my posts which I have been answering all over the net explaining the Speak Asia Model and clearing everyone’s doubts. But I never expected that with in a Month my blog will hit a viewership mark of 1,000 . Thanks a lot all my friends for visiting this blog frequently. What are you trying to say here is not at all clear? Why would you compare a Koutons with SAOL? They r not even the same.. First rule of logic, compare apples to apples.. first rule of rabble rousing speeches, compare apples to oranges to prove ur point.. I remember kids bringing me those mathematical proves proving 1=0.. I always used to laugh at the naive proves and lack of basic concept.. Anyhow, it was easier to tell those kids, how they r wrong then to tel u about the lack of the whole business model.. Mr Khanna, noone gets paid that kind of money for filling surveys.. Why does SAOL promotes itself as marketing company when it has many a times said in the meeting, that it just sells e-zine and charges money for its subscription.. Anyhow, the failure of a company with a business plan doesn`t prove that a company without a business plan can succeed, it rather reduces the chances of a company having a busniess plan and succeeding even less.... Its like giving me an example of a person who died from lung cancer even though he never smoked and saying `look, now what you have to say`.. what i have to say is, if a person without smoking can die from lung cancer, the chances of a smoker dieing of lung cancer is even higher.`

Nehow, I have disappeared, becoz unlike you, I have no ineterest in this counter, I haven`t `invested`(a word refuted by mgnt in presentations), and my motive to come here was give an unbiased opinion.. But I am not on for more debates or msgs, as it holds no benefit for me whatsoever.. If u r invested here, keep hoping for the best..

I have always analysed things thru siplest form and tried to take out conclusions thru simplest ways.. If it was so easy to earn money, y would ppl do hard work? Any company which guarantees returns in stock market is banned by SEBI becoz its not possible.. This is the reply to one of ur earlier rabble rousing msgs whr u said, y cant they catch cos guaranteeing sure returns in stock market.. They r banned.. so now coming back to saol, if it cud give such returns, y wud ppl work, everyone shud just sit at home.. If it was easy, i would rather open a company which would just employ ppl to fill surveys the hwole day for me.. And I would employ ppl at Rs 15000 p.m., invest some few lakhs and earn millions.. as a matter of fact y cant, saol do the same thing? y cant they employ thousands and just make them fill surveys and pay them 15000 p.m. in these surveys, every panelist can buy many panels, so thr is no point of talking abt distinctive respondents.. Nehow, forget it, i have involved my enuf time.. Last, `earning money is not easy`, if it was it wouldn`t have so much importance in the worls..

I think I wrote in pretty clear terms what I was trying to convey, since it was written in very detail let me just summarise it again for you.
1)      I am just pulling the Positives out of SAOL Management’s comments and you are pulling out negative comments therefrom.
2)      I totally agree that cost of subscribing ezine is very high and too much
3)      The company’s revenue model is explained on their site and excerpts from that site were posted in my previous post.
4)      As per the reply of company, Revenue is coming from aggregating Panels and exchanging those panels for a cost. And paying amount for sharing your opinion through the surveys is a business strategy (which is quite legal) to aggregate those panels.

5)      If you are not aware of the term panelists, then I would like to elaborate here that Panelists are nothing but consumers who have willingly come together to participate in any ad campaign or opinion poll and are not those people who are unwillingly targeted by the Telemarketing companies do by buying data from mobile companies and other publicly available websites. Remember Indian govt has started a Do Not Call registry and these telemarketers are now looking for alternate sources to collect customers database. What better than SPEAK ASIA and its panelists. Let the company get registered here and we should see a good business revolution..

Now coming to specific replies of your recent post - I never compared koutons with SAOL Sorry. This was just mentioned as a passer by comment that a business model yes or no, if company’s management is not fair it is going to vanish one day.
As regards business model, I already confirmed that I am a panelist and not SAOL employee / representative who can get access to the company’s exact business model. The company has its business model in place and that’s why it has been able to vindicate its stand in media. All my comments on this forum are only based on the excerpts of that business model shared with us.

I never tried to prove 1=0. When the comment was written that speakasia has garnered 11000 multiplied by x number of panelists, I replied on the same logic that company can generate business worth 25Crores multiplied by x number of companies to prove the mathematical logic.

Since you are not ready to open up your minds and accept the new thing you will not be able to cherish this new concept which will revolutionize the way business is done atleast in FMCG segment.

I will again emphasise that SAOL is not a simple survey filling company. Now It is a community of a few lakh people who are ready to buy as well as sell the products from its soon to be launched new ecommerce site. This will help company establish its footprint in ecommerce and mcommerce through precision marketing instead of mass marketing and soon this will revolutionise the way FMCG business is done in India presently.

New Ideas always face resistance and the same is being seen here. And when you say it is easy money than think again.

SAOL Has employed few lakh employees (panelists) who are being paid compensation of 4,000 rs. Per month. These panelist will now help company sell products of existing brands when it launch its Ecommerce website and distribute middle men commissions to these employees(panelists).
Just to clarify again – one panelist can buy only one panel and to control this duplicacy , if any ,which has happened due to misselling in the initial stages, company is now going to put checks and balances in the new site which will be launched soon.

I really appreciate your unbiased view but when you say that is of no benefit to you, then sorry to say you are contradicting your own unbiased view statement.

In Simpler Terms, If We Need To Illustrate This With An Example Then This Is How It Goes: Lets Assume The Below Earnings. Lets Say You Earn :

Rs 10,000 from Your Survey Income
Rs 01,000 from your Royalty Survey Income
Rs 10,000 from your Direct Referral Income
Rs 05,000 from your Pair Income
Here, your total income becomes, Rs 26,000

Now, assuming that any of your friends/uplines/downlines transfers you Rs 4000 in your account. Hence, your balance now becomes Rs 30,000.
BUT, as per the company policy and the update in the FAQ section, You CANNOT withdraw Rs 30,000 in your bank account, you can withdraw Only Rs 26,000 as you have earned only Rs 26,000 (from the above calculation The Rs 4000 which you cannot withdraw is that money which has been earned by someone else but transferred to your account.

In Short -
You Can Cash Only That Money In Your Bank Which You Have EARNED and NOT Which Has Been TRANSFERRED To You.

7) See everyone claims that their business model is sustainable but to make it sustainable proper precautions have to be taken. What are the precautions SAOL has taken ?

8) A very basic logic, if i have to start some work in India, I would never register myself in Singapore.. I wud register myself here..

For Any ONLINE business , as per legal terms, the company must register itself in their home country. registration in operating country is not mandatory. ABOVE ALL - there are hundreds of INDIAN companies who registered in India but ran away so getting registered in India is no guarantee in itself.

9) If I can really earn such huge sums thru the `precision advertising`, i wud not only talk in such ambiguity but wud outline, how this thing wud be accomplished.. because when we see some of the pretty well laid business plans, a business plan never says we can do this, we can do tat, even amazon did this, the business plan talks, how wud it be done.

SAOL has already proved their capacity and power by just survey in just 8-9 months of time. Its only TIME which will answer this. Wait for another 8-9 months and you will see the power of SAOL. SAOL has accomplished and They WILL accomplish their future goals. You already know - ACTION Speaks LOUDER Than WORDS

10) When you say, each person can buy more than one panel, its like duplicacy of the respondent for the company associated..

Just wanted to say one thing about the ID. Co Never says one can take 3 IDs. One can buy 1 main Panel and 9 SubPanel max.. And all the surveys of these would be different, so there would be no question of Duplicacy. Yes, with the same EMail and Mobile No, there could be 3 ID ( Panel ) , but the profile of those 3 id should be different and Its something like that 3 members in a same family could be Panelist of Speak Asia with same Mobile No and EMail Id. And here assumption is that Those 3 members ( 3 id ) will fill the survey independently, so there is no question of filling the same survey by same person

Speak Asia has collected Rs 2000cr frm 2 mill.members for a market which is not more than 10crore Rs per year. ( Market research is a 100 crore industry of which only Rs10 crores is spent for collection of information every year and only small portion is online. Speak asia is proposing to make 1 crore members and collect 11000 crore Rs and pay 48000Crore Rs per year ( 4000 per month for 12 months for filling up forms per head!!i) Can you beat this fraud????

Advertising and promotion spend of Hindustan UniLever (One of the biggest FMCG Company in India) was Rs.2,391 crore, or close to 14% of its Rs.17,500 crore sales in fiscal year ended March 2010. Assume this company spends apprx 25 crores (10% of entire AD Budget) to target their audience through survey companies like SPEAKASIA who have their business model well explained in their press conference and SPEAK ASIA targets only 20 such companies it can generate 500 Crores from FMCG sector. Then there is auto sector, Banking Sector, Consumer Durables sector and the list goes on. In the country like INDIA, i don`t think it is hard to find 300 such companies who can spend 25 crores per annum to reach the target audience... 25 Crores X 300 = 7500 Crores. That simply speaks volumes of business this company can generate. So don't be amazed if tommorow some one wants to be a panelist and not a single penny is charged by the company from them

Companies u r mentioning may spend certain amount on surveys..agreed ..but they ll also pay per survey. As I heard this company is allowing one member to give their opinion three times ..how fair is that business??

Have you ever noticed that whenever a new idea is born, there are more resistances to it than acceptances.. (Amway, CNG Autos, Low Floor Buses, Ramdev Yoga Classes, sexy sexy mujhe log bole (Dulaara Song), Jumma Chumma (Song from HUM) .

Now each of these are acceptable in India. This is because people who have short vision and are narrow minded can not see a longer clear vision.

It is not mandatory to pay 11000 just check the website of the company

do you know the calculation of their weekly survey payout? let me tell you - 500 75 (sponsor commission) x 1500000 = 86.25 crores x 2 surveys = 172.5 crores??????? therefore wyarly payout for 52 weeks = 8970crores ... can you enlighten us how many companys needed for this?

They need 300-400 companies spendiing 25-30 crores each.to pay 9000 crores. HUL`s advertisment spend last year was 2391 crores hence 25-30 crores is easily spendable by most of the companies in INDIA. Now don`t say corporates won't spend such a small amount just because every one is hell bent on proving this as a PONZI . IF they see merit in company's business model i.e. precision MASS Marketing, they can spend even 100 crores each..

Come on grow up ,see the use of technology and how it can benefit the entire
society.

8950 crores is a pretty small amount when compared to various other numbers floating in media through our beloved politicians..

I am off the topic.. I have said what all I wanted to.. All said and done, I still believe, that Mr khannaca is a representative of SAOL seeing his conviction and the rabble-rousing messages.. Read through all the earlier posts and take your call about the company, I would be glad if Speak Asia propogating such big things could come with a proper business model with assumptions, costs, revenue, etc. Being a business analyst, I know, no one with a little bit of business or finance knowledge would not pay 11000 to get subscription of e-zine.. Thats what they charge everyone for according to SAOL.. And mr Khannaca, this is not at all a sensitive information. I haven`t seen a company in public domain hiding the name of its clients except KPOs where confidentiality of client is important which is not at all the case here.. If SAOL has done so much research please enlighten us about the money being paid to big market research companies per respondent. Don`t give me skewed data, provide data for normal FMCG surveys. Do one thing, next time, when you see someone getting a survey form filled from you in any big retail outlet, ask them what kind of money do they get per respondent.

You are right . Because when truth starts emerging, people start running off from replying. Its good that you have disappeared but I will surely not and love you to be available on this forum. This is a healthy debate going on here and I am loving it.

No I am not a representative of SAOL at all. I am a common man just like you who has put in 11K but is yet to recover a single penny. I am an optimist pulling out the positives from what ever the company is saying. And no I am not trying to sell SAOL anywhere if you have gone through my posts. Regarding your doubts on 11,000 as the cost of e-zine , yes it is costly. Name of the clients is not some thing which company is hiding. Names of the clients are available in their financial statements posted on ACRA website of singapore govt if company officials are to be believed. Yes I have not seen those financials till now but i am believing what company is saying. The following is a reply published on the company website

``Panel Business operates on the lines of multiple exchanges where panel providers are pooled in and the clients can take their pick of the panels based on their profile requirement directly or through brokers. The panel profile can be based on demographics and many other parameters. The selected profiled panel is picked up like in any other exchange and the work is allocated to them. Hence the panels cannot know the clients name directly. (e.g. in a stock exchange we buy stocks but at the time of buying we do not know who is selling those stocks)

This is the company’s confidential data, which unfair competitors would dearly love to know; hence the names have not been publically disclosed .However our books of accounts clearly show the details of income from panel business and the agencies who gave us work.``
As regards revenue Model the company`s reply as published on the website is reproduced below..

This is Koutons Retail India Limited which is registered in India. The persons who have bought shares of this company based on your so called analysis of business model and assumptions were REAL investors and they have lost 90% of their wealth in one year. And no I am not giving any skewed numbers here. You can visit bse website for this scrip at http://t.in.com/cexd and see it for real. And there are so many companies like these where investors have lost money but the analysts have gained as they were only traders and not investors.

See I am not pinponting any one here. I am just saying that everyone has a point of view and every thing has it`s positives as well as negatives. Why do some people only focus on Negatives, I am unable to understand till now. Even my father is in one of those categories who first say no to everything and then keep on justifying what they have said. And once they realise that the other person is right, they stop answering. SAOL might have negatives but this does not mean that those negatives are outweighing the positives. Give SAOL some more time and you would appreciate that most of the negatives are wiped out. Even If SAOL backs off , then I would be thankful to you and people like you who just can`t digest a good prospective model and keep on shouting PONZI Ponzi instead of letting us know that what is the legal recourse available if the company runs away. AND No I will never disappear from this FORUM or from this TOPIC because I can answer all your queries. I vouch here clearly that I am not a SAOL representative but a common man who has joined SAOL as a panelist and have belief in what the maangement is saying. Even if I am not 100% sure on Managements statements but the way things are moving on I feel much confidence and comfort in believing what management is saying rather than listening to your not so good logics.. Speakasia - Is the business model valid???

There is one of my friend Mr Pulkit (a business analyst) who posted some queries on my posts about speak asia on Moneycontrol Message board. I am just posting the queries and my replies written to him..

Request the readers to please post their own queries or reactions... These will be eagerly awaited...

Get me the answer of few questions, which are never answered and, and dun message be4 u have the answers for these questions

1. Why was the company not registered in India when whole business model is based in India. I need a specific reason and any comparable you can find.

2. What amount, (plz no big talks, just figures), is being paid to the company per participant by its customers?

3. If they have business model, first requisite is `a projected P&L and BS`.. Plz share, from whr is the income coming, the expenses, the asset base. (repeating again, plz no bogus, just figures) (dun give me claims and big talks)

4. If company has made a business model, they must have tested the waters, plz share, what is the income currently earned by survey cos per respondent (suit urself, and take the best of them in india) (plz give figures for non analysed surveys, not the analysed ones) (also, mind to adjust it much downwards as this is an internet survey, not a physical one)

5. Indian census, the biggest survey in the world, surveys around 130 cr ppl, acc to speakasia, it shud cost (130*500=65000 crores) please check the cost of indian census, a physical, one on one, beauracratic, high cost, survey..

6. If you access to good news papers, please read this week`s sunday ET which talks abt the indian statisticians who do surveys in villages and analyse them, and do vast surveys which gives us our gdp estimates etc being underpaid.. U wud be surprised but they r pad Rs 30000 p.m. plz read thru it..

7. Last stop giving silly arguments and misguiding ppl I have said enough.. I realised late tat I am trying to give logic to ppl blinded by greed.. I happen to read ur earlier posts and now I have absolutely no intention to even discuss with u nething.. The kind of ur earlier msgs, talking abt stock advisors, and cos promising gr8 returns on net not being picked and speakasiaonline being picked does not reflect well on ur intellectual acumen.. I have no intention to further discuss be4 my questions r answered.. And as for 20 lakh panelists funding the co. is all my argument about, is what a ponzi scheme is.. 20 lakh ppl funding a co. which gives reward points in exchange of filling surveys.. still no answer as to y was it not started in india, if it had to do business only in india.. An mnc or a co. present in different countries is non comparable, as they have businesses all over.. Mr Khanna, I am pretty acquainted with the kind of words used.. These r the same kind of words, e-biz trainers use..

and just for ur reference, please read abt charles ponzi and his promising postal scheme.. U wud find resemlences in SAOl.. So long, so good.. I am off this panel till I have legitimate answers to my questions.. Till then, bye.

1. The company is now being registered in India as per today`s telecast on zee business. This was part of their original strategy which they had announced during Genx fair held in goa during 9-11 may and the reference of the same was given in the 16th May press confrence (Hope you have seen the press conference wherein the business model was briefly explained. .The company is getting registered with a base equity capital of 95 crores. and there are three subsidiaries planned. The first office will be in Goregaon , mumbai

2. This type of information you know can not be released by any company to anyone.Since you are a business analyst, I hope you should be aware of sensitivity of this information. This is the core business of the company and how can you expect the company to tell such sensitive data. Anyways you can refer the list of FAQs as published by SAOL on their website (http://t.in.com/6eoy )

3. The company`s current financial year has ended on May 31st 2011 and the audited results will be out within the statutory timelines soon. Their Auditors are one of the Big Fours. The previous years` documents are available on the singapre govt`s ACRA website.on payment of a nominal fees

4. Refer my earlier posts and no they were not big bogus claims . They are truly achievable numbers obviuosly no one can boast of such numbers from the company``s side officially but THIS IS what CONSUMER EMPOWERMENT is in its true sense.

5. A employee in govt sector gets 50000/- salary and for the same post the same employee if works in privater sector gets salary of 90-100K. The remuneration totally depends on how big the overhead costs are.

6. That`s why speakasia is here. Just to let you people and government know that if the benefits are passed to the end consumer directly without any middlemen you will be able to pay more and more so when everything is through latest web technology which saves a lot on time consumed and on logistics . The indian statisticians are paid less because the govt is not selling those survey results for commercial use to the big corporates.

Arguments can go on and on but think with an open mind. Don`t act childish and open your eyes to a new revolution coming in INDIA.

And No there is no greed here. I have been very logical in calculating the numbers as explained by this model This is going by pure mathematics but the people who have closed minds cannot think beyond the traditional ways which everyone has been following and hence they are shouting PONZI PONZI.... When Charlez Ponzi started the idea he failed because he was unable to handle large numbers. Now with advent of computing and internet and now upcoming cloud computing handling of large databases is not impossible at all. How does it matter if the company did not start its operations from INDIA. The company was testing waters in INDIA and after testing they had all the team and work plan prepared in advance which would have been executed even if media had not shouted.
